I am SO excited about this 1-Minute Fashion Fix! I only stumbled upon this September 1991 issue of Cosmopolitan quite recently and it features two of my absolute favourite Aussie fashion models - Francoise Skeates and Toneya Bird. There's another chick whose name I do not know (drop us a line if you can ID her) and a very lucky dude who gets to ham it up as the deli meat in a three-tiered model salad sandwich.
Influenced by a some genuinely choice masters of music, these girls and the lucky dude recreate the styles of rock 'n' rollers Robert Palmer, Poison, INXS, Billy Idol and Jon Bon Jovi for Cosmo magazine.
Robert Palmer's girl posse, as seen in his early '90s music videos, inspire some meticulously slicked back hair and bright red lipstick to kick off this editorial. To break up the abundance of black in the spread there's a few welcome pops of colour with the girls sporting '70s revival threads and platinum blonde wigs - a la Suicide Blonde, INXS. Cosmo made full use of their fancy dress rental by putting suicide blonde-wigged Toneya Bird on the cover. #smokin'hot
I just love everything about this spread & I hope you do too. Enjoy!
